Everyone has seen a boss sometime, why should a lvl 6 Flint Touchstone (Old Ascalon) have visible aura of 'power' and a lvl 20 warrior or echo nuker has nothing?

Now, to make this aura have some sense apart from just for looks, one might restrict this aura only to ascended chars. To make it real cool the aura would be like a DBZ style although if it were just like the mobs' auras it would be enough too. The color would be like the bosses' auras (ie. linked to primary profession)

I know it may seem a meaningless thing but I don't see it too hard to implement and (most importantly) I find it unjust that a stupid mini-boss has a visible aura and players don't.

Edit: Removed the idea of Aura levels and left only the basic idea of having an aura like the bosses once reached lvl 20 or ascended.

all this will achieve is that all the leet (/spit) players will just use auras as an excuse to be arseholes.. my aura is brighter than your aura.. omg u dont have an aura!!!!!!1111! noob! etc etc

it wont add anything to the game and will in fact detract from the enjoyment for the casual player.

The lag issue you mentioned is irrelevant. Because your still recieving the information, but your computer recieves it and is programmed not to display it to you. The same applies with blocking off different chats.

The aura is really just to let players know that it's a boss.

/notsigned for ranks gaining higher aura. They already have emotes, no need for a 24/7 one, and YOU KNOW they will be displaying it 24/7.

ooo.,.. I'd love to have the mesmer's aura^^

ok ok maybe no levels for auras but at least an aura which shows that you're ascended (or at the very least lvl 20).

Bear with me, this is all going toward the point of your post

I would like players to have the ability to gain more fame in PvE. Right now, the only way to become a celebrity is by winning halls alot or being in a top gild. Not many players can achieve this in PvP. PvE has absolutely nothing for players to be famous for.

Arenanet should add more elite missions as the months go by. However, these missions should be a competitive event between teams of PvE'ers (much like the missions you set records for in factions). Different teams would fight a gauntlet, and the first team to reach a goal/destination would win special weapons/items/etc.

Among the things they can win would be a special effect they can equip as a piece of armor. Not one of the 5 normal pieces, but a 6th piece, like an amulet slot or something. While equipped, that character would have a different look, such as wings, a halo, an aura, whatever.

Of course, Anet can make whatever kind of event they want to implement this, but I think all players agree there needs to be more customization for players.

Please don't tell me about people being run to droks because I just don't care, this idea makes no sense.
